Thousands of NISD students are seeing red in schools this week as they celebrate Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 27-31) with rallies, parades, and special events to encourage children of all ages to stay drug-free.

If you are over 65 years old and live in Northside ISD or are a retired NISD employee, you may be eligible to receive the Northside Gold Card.
The annual NISD College Night will be held Monday, Nov. 3 from 6-8:30 pm drawing more than 140 colleges and universities from across the nation.
An estimated 120 Carnahan Elementary School students, who are at risk of going hungry on the weekends, have a special weekend backpack. A group of volunteer parents fill the bags every Friday with simple meals to last the child over the weekend. The program is called Blessings in a Backpack. Four Northside schools are semifinalists in the 2014-2015 Silver & Black Give Back Team Up Challenge- Stevens High School, Construction Careers Academy, Briscoe Middle School, and Mead Elementary School.
